P2 – I am going to outline how legislation, policies and procedures relating to health, safety and security influence health and social care settings.
M1 – I am also going to describe how health and safety legislation, policies and procedures promote the safety of individuals in a health or social care setting.
  * Policy- it is a document explaining the expected standard.
  * Procedures- are the introduction of how to carry out the particular task.
  * Legislation- are the laws. Legislations are important throughout any work environment and society. Without these laws there would be many accidents that could harm anyone in a setting.
Manual Handling Operation Regulations Act 1992
Under the regulations manual handling is regarded as any transporting or supporting of a load by hand or body force. Manual handling operation regulation act 1992 applied many range of manual handling activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling, currying or moving. The load may be either objects such as a box, a trolley or a person and animals. The main purpose of this legislation is minimising risk to health and social care safety associated with moving and handling the activities. In order to reduce the risk, the employees should avoid the manual handling operations that involve the risk of injury as far as possible. Avoid lone working and ask for assistance when you find it hard to lift the service user by yourself.
