In the dance world, we probably concentrate more in a different way, although we don’t have written ground rules, it is fair to say, most students learn what is expected. I firmly believe in treating others, as I wish to be treated myself, this is my own opinion, and something that has worked for me personally.   I have taught in several schools, including a private school, also several disabilities groups including a college. I quickly access who predominantly is the leader or leaders, and use these to encourage others into buying into the dance creating a win, win, scenario. A teacher is duty bound to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, not just physical /resources, supporting our learners in the life long learning.   By promoting the qualities of equality and diversity and treating people in accordance with their needs. Negotiating   ground rules, leading to positive, attitudes, and aptitudes, for tasks .One way of alleviating clicks or more dominant personalities from grouping, and perhaps bullying others, is to look at the bigger picture, utilise these personalities,   bring out perhaps people who are more introvert.   Choose seating formations that make people feel included, ie half moon, this enables integration with the group, allowing them not to feel embarrassed, and able to vent their opinions.       Treating each other with respect by listening, and not speaking over each other.   Negotiating ground rules, making people responsible so the group know exactly   what   the boundaries are. Creating a sense of team work, encouraging students to participate .
