Popular American Culture
In every nation of the world there is a certain style or attitude that the nation has developed or inherited from past generations, this can be described has the nations culture. There are many different definitions of culture but one that explains it fully in my opinion is from the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA). CARLA defines culture as,” culture is defined as the shared patterns of behaviors and interactions, cognitive constructs, and affective understanding that are learned through a process of socialization. These shared patterns identify the members of a culture group while also distinguishing those of another group”(2009,CARLA).
The daily interactions of wants, needs and aspirations associated with everyday life in that nations culture is what makes up the nations popular culture. These are affected by a variety of different things such as national news, sports, and local community relations are just to name a few. The statues of the nation will also play a huge role in the way the nations popular culture is developed. If the nation is viewed well in the world state then the culture is more secure with developing their own ideas and tends and not looking to the rest of the world for ideas.
There are many trends in American popular culture that are in the daily lives of millions of Americans. I would have to say that the one that is the most active in our nation is the social networking device such as Facebook and MySpace. These devices have brought the daily lives of Americans into the home and workplace of everyone in the world. This could be a good or a bad thing depending what you are posting in your accounts.
Another trend in our nations culture is the television shows that are being shown and found to be appropriate for national cable networks. These show are using more foul language and showing more...
