Central Idea: I am here on behalf of PETA to persuade you to help us to stop animal testing in the United States.
I. It is well known that the United States people love animals since more than 60% of these people own at least 1 pet. 69 % own dogs, 51 % own cats, and 27 % own all other types of animals whether it is a fish, a bird, a rabbit, or even a snake. Imagine that your pet which you love and adore were to be put in a dark cold cage with no space no move and used to experiment on daily. Would that upset or anger you? I’m sure it would and unfortunately experimenting on animals happens every day in the United States. Up to 90 percent of animals used in U.S. labs aren’t counted in the official statistics of animals tested. Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned and abused in U.S. labs every year. 92 percent of experimental drugs that are safe and effective in animals fail in human clinical trials because they are too dangerous or don’t work. On behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA I would like to persuade you to help us stop this mistreatment and abuse of poor helpless animals that are tested on every day.
II. .Now what exactly is animal testing? Well it is the use of animals in experimentation to make sure that for example the use of a certain drug or cosmetic does not harm a human that uses it or how effective it could be.
A. Firstly, research using animals has diverse aims. Some researchers usually use animals to experiment on them. For example, investigate their behavior, simply just study the animal, investigate animal breeding and so on. Moreover, some experts claim that it can be beneficial to improving the health and well-being of people.
