Codes of practice cover a multitude of subjects such as equality, diversity and the means to promote inclusion, health and safety legislation. In my assignment I am going to cover the construction industry
Building Regulations
Communities and Local Government is responsible for building regulations, which exist to ensure the health and safety of people in and around buildings, and the energy efficiency of buildings. The regulations apply to most new buildings and many alterations of existing buildings in England and Wales, whether domestic, commercial or industrial. (www.communities.gov.uk)
Codes of Practice
There are many codes of practice in construction to many to list but in construction it is mainly dominated by health and safety construction sites are very dangerous and every body has there duty as a worker to look after there own health and safety here are sum codes of practice in my work place.
The safe use of hazardous substances e.g. asbestos, gasses, chemicals (c.o.s.h.h.)
Electrical safety. Checking cables for cuts or wear. Plugs and tools for cracks.
Personal protective equipment (p.p.e) hard hat, safety boots, vest
Emergency procedures. Site evacuation, first aid

we need to be aware of such legislations and information can be found on any tools and equipment you may use ,such as paint you will find control of substances hazardous to health (c.o.s.h.h) by following all the codes of practice and regulations it will make it a safer workplace.
