Be able to plan.
Within the role of teacher or trainer, one of the most important skills is to be able to plan. Without planning, the course could and probably will come up against several obstacles and often fail.
From the course enrolment form, the teacher or trainer should have an understanding of any issues the learners may have, ie. Reading or writing difficulties along with sight difficulties. From dissecting each learners enrolment form we can ensure the following criteria are met:
1. Is the environment suitable for the training being offered, ie. Good lighting, satisfactory seating, various forms of communication from the teacher or trainer like audio, written information.
2. Course documents should be suitable for all trainees. Are there any people which require written documents to be in a larger print for example.
How the course is delivered.
The teacher or trainer should, at all times deliver the course using appropriate language and also challenge this when trainees are also communicating. The teacher or trainer should engage the trainees through his or her style of speaking. Do not become too monotone in delivery.
At the start of the course during the induction stage, time should be allowed for discussion between the trainer and trainees in relation to the structure of the course, policies and a complaint procedure should one be needed. The trainer should be open and willing to receive comments back from the trainees.
At the start of the course, rules of the company and/or venue should be communicated clearly to the trainees and ensure that the trainees understand what is being said to them.
The assessment tools used in the course should be designed in line with the trainees needs which would be found...
