Task 1.
Outline how attitudes have changed to special educational needs provision.
Attitudes have changed to Special Educational Needs Provision because before the acts that helps with Special Educational Needs children and young people with Special Educational Needs didn’t have full access to places like buildings and schools. They weren’t treated like individuals and were kept separate from other children because they had a Special Educational Need or Disability and weren’t allowed into mainstream schools. There weren’t any schools that supported children and young people who had a Special Educational Need or a Disability and they didn’t have full access to an education. However after the acts came into place children and young people with Special Educational Needs or a Disability were legally allowed access to schools, building, and any area that they want to and can go anywhere that they want to. Children and young people were finally treated like individuals and were allowed into mainstream schools and allowed full access to an education just like any other child would. Also schools opened that were specifically for children and young people who have a Special Educational Need or a Disability. Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are not as hidden as they were before the acts came into place now a days there are so many schools for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and specially trained teachers and teaching assistants to help those children so they have full access to the opportunities that life can give them and it’s not unusual to see people who have a Special Educational Need or Disability working were it used to be that they couldn’t work before all those acts came into place.
