One of the hallmarks of Amity is Amity institute of Biotechnology (AIB) which has been producing quality scientists and researchers capable of strengthening and broadening the base of biotech which has already taken firm roots in India. And helping it in doing that along with encouraging extracurricular activities among students is the youth council, AUYC (Amity Institute of Biotechnology Undergraduate Youth Council).
The Youth Council is an integral part of the institute and is the hub for curricular and extracurricular activities. The Council was established in the year 2006 and has played a pivotal role ever since .It gave rise to “Urooj”, AIBs annual fest which has been a phenomenal success with the active participation from an umpteen number of students from all over the country.
The AUYC has delved into all realms of extracurricular activities for instance,
Literary Committee: Unleashes the hidden talents of writing, oration, dramatics among the students, motivates them to actively participate in all the debates, seminars and lecture series, giving them a platform to recognize their goals. It also publishes an annual newsletter called “Biovignettes” which encompasses some of the finest works of literature along with the latest biotechnological trends.
Sports Committee: “Sangathan”, the annual Inter-institutional sports meet where numerous students showcase their talent in a plethora of different sports and games.
Cultural Committee: Organizes street plays, stage plays based on the current social stigmas faced by our country. It also has AIBs own choreography team “Zeal” which has won accolades wherever they have...
