Explain the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training

The key role of a teacher to is to actively engage his or her students in the subject matter at hand, so that upon completion of a class or course, they have a good understanding of the subect material, ie., that the students have actually learned the material.   It is the responsibility of a teacher to make sure that you are using clear language at an appropriate level for the students to understand, to continually reinforce the different aspects of the material to be learned and to involve your students in the learning process via a variety of hands on techniques in order to keep each student engaged.   Primarily, your job role is guided by the material you are teaching as well as the ages and experience of the people you are teaching. It’s important to be enthusiastic about your subject, to take pride in your work and to be approachable for questions by your students.

The teaching cycle aids in the process of helping a student learn.   In this cycle, a teacher will identify the student’s needs, prepare the teaching and learning plans, teach or facilitate learning, assess the learning aspect by making sure your students are understanding the material and finally, evaluation, in which your role as the teacher is examined for its effectiveness.  

Other important factors of the teaching role and responsibilities include: professionalism and integrity, attending meetings, administrative duties, effective and appropriate communication, attendance records, compliance with regulatory requirements, procedures and codes of conduct, differentiating teaching and learning approaches, ensuring assessment decisions are valid, ensuring that students are on the right program, establishing ground rules, following health and safety requirements, giving appropriate informations and advice, helping students to develop theirr learning skills, incorporating technology where applicable, maintaining a safe...
