Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin was a very intelligent man who was a great inventor, writer and all around person. In his life time he achieved many great things, more than the average person would dream of. He made a positive, significant impact on society by many important inventions and ideas that made our society what it is today. Today’s modern lifestyle would not exist if it wasn’t for Benjamin Franklin’s impact.
At the young age of 10 years old, Benjamin’s formal education ended and he began to apprentice his father, a candle and soap maker. Although Benjamin Franklin hardly got any formal education, he still became an amazing contribution to our society. After one year with his father, he started to apprentice his older brother James, a printer. Most children like Ben apprenticed their fathers until they were about 16, but Ben wanted to apprentice his brother. When Ben was about 19, he left his brother and went to Philadelphia where he established his own printing business, in which he began his first career. Benjamin’s brother obviously made an impact on him and how he would like to start out his life.
Benjamin Franklin made a very big impact on society with his inventions. One of his many inventions were bifocals. Many people today wear glasses and they would not have been able to if it weren’t for Ben Franklin. Another important invention was the iron stove. This led our society into what it is today. However, the most important of his inventions was electricity. Our modern society would be completely different if we did not have electricity. So, if it wasn’t for Ben Franklin’s inventions our world as we know it would be completely different.
