Birth of the Republic


From the beginning of the revolution, the Americans set out in finding the political needs necessary to withhold an independent nation.   While being under control of the British for so long the Americans wanted to find their own identity, leading to the fight for freedom in the American Revolution.   It was the cause for their strife, not agreeing with the government in other areas of the world as well, the Americans sought to find a way to allow the colonies an equal fight in in the political era and their own independence as a nation, H.W. Brands thoroughly discusses his thoughts and own perspective of the “Birth of the Republic” with the beginning and ending steps of the process in creating their own country.   H.W. Brands explains the many delegates from each colony that come together as one and must rise above their own opinion to learn to compromise everything they know for the good of their country and to create a long lasting Constitution through election of our own representatives ensuring there to be no absolute power, allowing the power to be in the hands of the people as well as proving to the rest of the world the Americans could make it. The many conflicts discussed in the ‘Birth of the Republic told of the completion and documentation of the   American Constitution through exceeding authority and completely disregarding the Articles of Confederation forming the new American Republic.
