Brigadier General Joseph V. Medina
Brigadier General Joseph V. Medina is a historical hispanic leader, and how it
started was by a single choice he made. That choice would later on impact where he
lived, how he lived, and how he got his education. And most importantly the price he
had to be willing to pay in order to get his education. Although the price for his
education and his career choice were rather risky, it didn’t really matter. But throughout
the difficulties, Joseph chose to stand firm and keep going on the path he started on.
Joseph V. Medina was born in the year 1953, also Joseph is of Mexican
ancestry. Before Joseph attended the US Naval Academy, he attended the University of
Southern California. While Joseph was there he had gotten a Bachelor's degree in
Physics (science) and a Masters in System Management (science) degree. Joseph
started attending the US Naval Academy in the year of 1972, and graduated in the year
of 1976. Joseph also attended other schools too, which include mphibious Warfare
A
School which he graduated as an honors student in 1985, along with the Marine Corps
Command and Staff College as a Distinguished graduate in 1992 and from the NATO
Defence College in 1998.
In May of 1995 Joseph was assumed command of 3rd battalion, 2nd Marines for
Operation Sea Signal. Joseph was also sent to Japan as a part of the Unit Deployment
Program in 1996. In February of 1997, Joseph was reassigned to the Executive Officer
of the 2nd Marine Regiment. Then in February of 1998 Joseph was transferred to
Headquarters U.S. European Command. In June of 1999 Joseph was then promoted to
Colonel as the Chief of Operational Plans Division.
After all that time his work finally paid off, in 2001 Joseph was promoted to ...
