Introduction
Activities: storytelling and recording workshop, sound editing workshop
Literacy, digital recording & editing
In tandem with a local literacy initiative (Activ8) at the central library in Hull, this project encourages literacy and communication skills in addition to confidence building; the main outcome is the ability of the attendees to record the voices of themselves and others and edit down the recorded results. With this in mind, confidence in IT processes is also an intended outcome.
AIMS:
* Produce a concise recording of locally composed poetry/prose
* Improve literacy for infants and storytelling skills for parents/adults
* Edit sound
Objectives:
* Choosing work written for a local project involving the Larkin Toads
* Encouraging attendees to read aloud
* Taking turns to record using a dictaphone
* Teaching correct microphone/Dictaphone handling techniques
* Editing recordings in Audacity
