Equality – Building a fairer society. Individuals are able to contribute to society and have the chance to fulfil their potential. Equality means that everyone is equal in status, rights and opportunities. Their race, disability, age, gender, religion, culture or sexual orientation makes no difference. All are treated equally.
Diversity – Recognises that although people have things in common, they are also different in many ways. Diversity is about knowing and appreciating those differences.
Inclusion – A sense of belonging, to feel included, respected and valued for who you are. Inclusion ensures that everyone has equal access to resources, rights, goods and services. Individuals are able to participate in activities.
In my role as Clinical lead Nurse, it is my responsibility to ensure that my residents, their families and staff members and anyone we are working in partnership with are treated equally, with dignity and respect.
