Background | Moving country: The child may be scared, confused and anxious about moving. There may be a language barrier between the other children and the teachers. The child may be quiet, subdued and moody. The language barrier may stop other children from playing or talking to the child which could lead to lower self esteem and make the child feel as an outsider, which may affect the child's social development. New sibling: Before the new sibling arrived the child may of had the parent's full attention. The child's parent's may spend more time with the new sibling and the child may not understand why they need to share the parent’s attention. As a result the child may feel let down, angry, lonely, neglected, isolated and even abandoned, which can lead to problems in their emotional development. | Early recognition and response is vital for a better outcome for the child.
