Leather tanning processing refers to the process of depilating and tanning raw skins and hides of animals through physical and chemical methods to produce leather, which is more durable and less susceptible to decomposition. The relevant activities include: leather tanning; light leather processing (to produce light, soft and colored leather for manufacturing shoe top, apparel, gloves, soft bags, leather goods, etc); heavy leather processing (to produce thick and durable leather for manufacturing under sole and military, industrial and civil leather goods); processing of rare animal hide.

The sluggish international demands shall be accountable for such sluggish growth. The export volume of fur garments went up by 4.7%, which is still far from the 36.8% growth achieved in the previous years, while the export value went down by 3.6%. Secondly, the orders are transferring to Southeast Asia.
