Code of Ethics
In starting my own business of a livestock and pet feed store, my ethnical code of ethics would be pretty simple and straight to the point. I would first and foremost require my suppliers to provide products produced in the United States only. My suppliers would have to conduct themselves in a professional manner, and not disclose any information to my competitors that may be buying the same products. In this day of age my suppliers would need to be a green company that uses renewable sources of power, and recycled packaging for everything that they can. They would need to be an environmentally friendly company. My main code would be to provide my customers with the best possible product at the lowest possible pricing, and be available for any problems encountered with my products sold. As for decision making I would be a sole proprietor and would make my wife and children the board members, in which all major financial decisions would be presented to them, before any commitments were made. The main role of my ethnical code is to supply my customer with the best possible products, at the lowest possible prices, with honesty and integrity.
As the company grows and there becomes the need for hiring employees they would be held to strict confidentiality about the business practices of their employer. They would be held to strict antitrust and competition codes, which would not allow them to discuss purchase prices with anyone outside of the company, including but not limited to competitors, and or vendors.
