I have researched online and I have spoken with various people in the United StatesFish and Wildlife Services. I have found that social networking sites are viewed as a personal thing. Employees are not discouraged from joining social networking sites. They are just “frowned upon”. They do not like to see their employees set a bad image for their Company. That would be a disgrace to the United States Fish and Wildlife Services. They do not like to have a negative presentation from their employees. This industry sees that home and business life should be kept separate. They do not like to get involved into personal information. If it is online or otherwise and it is a negative image it can cost your job. There are certain procedures for employers to act upon if an incident does occur. Blogs, podcasts, and vodcasts are not used on the job. There are more sophisticated technologies that they use to communicate. Employees are allowed to have a blog. It is considered a personal item that should not be done on company time. No employer has a blog to communicate to other employees. They are using face to face, email, phone, or other technologies to communicate to other employees. There is information on the World Wide Web that you can access about the industry of United States Fish and Wildlife Services. They do not use podcast for company training. They use videos, hands on learning or schooling for training. There may be a time in the future they use modern technologies that people use personally. Some employees may use these social networking sites to communicate to other employees. They may also use them for company time to help them accomplish their duties. There are times where employees use certain technologies before they are part of the company’s procedures.
