My perception of dance is to me a way of showing my personality physically and also a
way to help cope with stress and everyday problems that life may throw at you. Being free to
express everything single emotion you feel on the dance floor and feeling relaxed doing so is just
indescribable feeling.
For 7 years I took ballroom dancing classes at my middle school and my high school. At
first the conception of me trying that style of dancing was very weird to me and it didn’t seem
like I would enjoy it all. But after my very first class in middle school my feelings soon began to
change. I absolutely loved the style which made me come back every single year till the classes
were no longer available to me due to my age and my completion of highschool.
I still continue to dance regularly even though I am not taking lessons or participating in
any sort of outside of school dance club. I am taking time to just focus on my studies and
baseball but eventually hope one day I can start taking classes again and hope to gain more
knowledge and experience of the dance.
I not only find happiness and relaxation through performing dance but I can also get the
same feelings through observing it! In my free time i do enjoy going to dance recitals and
watching popular dance t.v shows like

It’s astounding to me seeing a dancer be so passionate with their type of dance and be able to
perform the dance at such a high level. Dancing is a type of therapy to myself in my opinion
and personally I can find pure happiness from the beautiful sport by performing it or observing
it.
Dance has become a huge part of my life over these past years. More than I ever thought
