1. Puberty can be a difficult time for adolescents. What are some of the challenges they face?
The changes adolescents face at puberty are changes in there body and brain developement. In puberty, an adolescents body will can like for a example a boy will grow hair on his body his voice will get lower and he is able to ejaculate. In boys during puberty, a spurt in height and changes to the body’s overall shape also occurs. For a girl, her body will grow hair on it, she will grow breast, and his will began to have her monthly period that also means now she can have children. For girls, their appearance can become a dominant concern, while boys experience puberty as a more positive change (Petersen et al., 1991). The brain at adolescent is still growing. In addition, the speed of processing in the brain grows to be a hundred times faster due to increased myelination (or covering) of neural axons, allowing speedier transfer of information along neural pathways (Silveri et al., 2006).
2. How and when is peer pressure harmful? Can it ever be helpful? Why?
Peer pressure is harmful when the teenagers are doing bad things or making random bad choices for no reason in particularly. Some examples of this is using illegal drugs such as marijuana to fit in, or partaking in underage drinking. But peer pressure can also help you in a good why to like, getting good grades. You are a byproduct of whom you associate yourself with. Peer pressure is not always bad. It can help you analyze yourself and contemplate on your ways of life.
