I am in interested in the field of HIV. As I read the literature in general, I find that men and women in the city of Philadelphia walk around and do not know that they are infected and they are passing this disease on to other men/women and Philadelphia has become number three in the United States with HIV. I think this has something to do with the fact that there are so many people just wanting to have sex and not educating themselves with material and knowledge that if you do not use protection there’s a slim to none chance that you can get infected and also infect someone else. As I read the literature further, I find that there are more young teen pregnant girls who are infected and passing the virus on to there children. Independent variable=people are not using protection .dependent variable= sex education. Operational Definition would be many young men and women in Philadelphia are not being taught sex education and how to protect themselves compare to the young men and women in china who have the lowest percent of HIV in the country. I would conduct a hypothetical survey off 50 young men and women from Philadelphia and 50 young men and women from China. I would ask them , among other things, if they have sex education in school and when they have sex do they use condoms and how much do they know about HIV and other infectious diseases. I would hypothesize that 35 young men and women from each country answered the survey ; 30 young men and women never was taught sex education in school in Philadelphia and 35 young men and women in China were taught sex education in school and had someone else at home talk to them about sex. I prove my hypothesis.
