Ego Booster and Ego Buster
In life the way people treat me and the words they use have affects on my mood and behavior. There are people who have raised my spirits and boosted my ego. Then, there are the ones who have negative comments about everything I do. I will be discussing one of my biggest ego boosters and one of my biggest ego busters. I will give details how these people impacted my life.
I have a very close male friend named Johnny. Who thinks I can do no wrong. We have been friends for over thirty years. He moved away about twenty years ago, but we have always visited each other and we keep in touch over the phone. Every time I get down and out about things I will call him and he will lift my spirits. He has always told me that I can do anything that I set my mind to. He has never criticized me in any way. For example I got a very bad hair cut one time and I felt just terrible. I wore a hat or pulled my hair up to hide it. Johnny told me that I could shave my head and I would still look good. How sweet is that? Then when I found out I was going to be a mom I was terrified. Johnny told me to calm down that I would be a perfect mom. I have two wonderful boys which I raised by myself. They are grown now and very successful. Guess Johnny was right about that. He always encouraged me and raised my spirits when I was down. Out of all the years that we have known each other he has never had a negative word to say about me or to me. Then when I told him I was going back to school he was so happy for me. I was kind of worried because I have been out of school so long that I might not do well. Of course Johnny’s words of encouragement and happiness for me boosted me up and made me feel better. He always pushed words of encouragement, when I decided to do something. I think God that he gave me such a wonderful friend. I feel like if it hadn’t been for Johnny’s words of encouragement I might have gave up. I didn’t give up. I just knew to pick up the phone and...
