Eternal
My book that I picked is called eternal by Cynthia leitich smith. This story is a dark love novel in which an angel named Zachary falls in love with a girl who he was sent to protect named Miranda. The story begins by which Zachary explains how he must protect her 24/7 “it’s my job to keep an eye on her 24/7” (eternal 1). As the story progresses Miranda is kidnapped by a group of vampires and right as she’s about to get kidnapped, Zachary reveals himself to the world of the living in which he loses his powers as an angel” have I fallen? I must have fallen. Fallen in love. Fallen from grace. The archangel, my wings, my love, gone”. (Eternal29) After that, Miranda is kidnapped by a group of vampires and even though she wakes up, she soon finds out that she is no longer human but a vampire, “his smile is toothy, zip your blood wine.” (Eternal 46) Miranda has joined a group of social vampires and the main vampire calls her her daughter. All the long while, Zachary who was turned into a human finally finds her but the only way that he can get close to her is to apply to be her servant. “Welcome to staff dracul. Your official tittle is personal assistant.”(Eternal 126) throughout the story, Miranda falls in love with Zachary and can’t seem to resist getting closer to him. “It’s an excuse to touch him” (eternal 205). In the end of the story, Zachary sees Miranda die “I watched her burn to nothingness. I watched her vanish by my own light” (eternal 305). I really enjoyed reading this novel and I enjoyed the way the two characters interacted with one another, I would definitely recommend this book.
