With in a year after the war the population skyrocketed as well as the divorce rate. CNN Library states that the Baby Boomer generation is, "the generation of Americans born between 1946 and 1964." Some "77.3 million" Americans were born into this generation and "1,181,000 divorces" came with it. The men going to war had extremely tough lives, but the children's weren't any easier.
