Federalist Paper

Abstract
Madison is addressing the people of New York by placing editorials in the major papers of the day. He is trying to tell them that the will of the people are those that elect government and they need to be careful of the candidate that they choose.   He wants them to know that factions will be the downfall of liberty and that a strong constitution is the way to go. The Constitution is based off the rights and wrongs of past governments. Governments and the Constitution should protect the rights of the minority as well as the majority. Factions are defined as the number of citizens that are inspired by some in common passion to act adversely towards the rights of other citizens. A republican government prevents factions. Having a large number of representatives guard against the few, meaning the more representatives, the more constituents.
