Assignment 3
We all know the phrase, DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTRRRROOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT Basketball. The Detroit Pistons is probably one of the best known basketball teams in the world. They have won three NBA titles and they have millions of fans but makes them great is that they work as a team. They are also the oldest NBA franchise. The greatest era of the Pistons was the bad boy era in my opinion.
During the bad boys era they had a lot of big names on their roster like Isaiah Thomas, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumars, and many others. The Detroit bad boys worked as a team to acquire two NBA championships to their collection. They were probably the most hated team in the world with two back to back championships defeating Magic Johnson and the L.A. Lakers. In their locker room everyone had a voice everyone had an opinion that is how they would move along to become great players. No one would hog the ball from another player and every single one of the players loved the game and wanted to bring a championship title to Detroit. The Pistons was in a sense the underdog that is what made their story so amazing and hard to look away from. Of course they probably didn’t think that they could defeat the Boston Celtics or the Los Angeles Lakes but they did with the guidance of Chuck Daly they did the impossible back to back. But I also feel like a lot of teams get overlooked as a one man job (Kobe Bryant) when in fact it is the team that gets a ring and gets bonuses. During the Bad Boy Era no one took the credit of carrying the team by themselves or blamed teammates for not so great games. This is what team work is about you win with your team and you lose with your team.
