1. What are the causes of stress in Michael’s or Jennifer’s life? How is stress affecting Michael’s or Jennifer’s health?
Jennifer has a lot of factors that are figured in to the stress in her life. Losing a baby can be very stressful and the loss of a parent can be just as stressful. Then there is her in-laws on here about trying for a baby again there is a lot of pressure and added stress from that as well. Always having to have everything just so and it order at work and trying to keep everyone happy has to were on a person. Then there is her father that needs medical watch around the clock and refuses to go to a nursing home so now she has to worry if he is ok when she is not around to check on him. With all this stress she is starting to fail in areas that she used to exceed in and the added stress from failing is on her to.
2. How are these stressors affecting Michael’s or Jennifer’s self-concept and self-esteem?
For most of her life Jennifer has prided herself on her ability to take care of business and get things done in a timely matter. Even though she is loved by her family and friends she still has a lot of tension for her to do certain things and be a certain way. She is sad at the loss of a baby and bad that she can’t make her in-laws happy and try to have another one. at work she is always making list and getting things done in a orderly fashion and with all the added stress she has started to slip there to. With everything she has worked so hard for and all the pressure at home and with family she is feeling like she is not good enough, like she is failing so why try any more. Her self-esteem is not as good as it was say four years ago when everything in her life made sense. Now it just seems to her that it is falling apart and there is nothing she can do to stop it.
