* An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is used to assess strengths and talents and opportunities for improvement to enhance career development and support aspirations.
* Allows employees and managers to identify:

* development opportunities/barriers
* career interests and aspirations
* how to improve in their current role
* how to improve for potential future roles
* An IDP helps prepare employees for future career opportunities, however; it does
NOT guarantee another position or promotion within the organization.
