In the 20th Century homosexual rights and marriage was nonexistent. However, today Homosexual Marriage seems to have two major issues i.e. political and/or religious. In my opinion, homosexual Couples should not be allowed to marry or adopt children because it is not supported by religion, morals, and biological factors. The 8th Amendment mentions the freedom of speech and freedom of living life. Today, Homosexuality is taken out of context because a marriage should be a union between one man and one woman. Sometimes the arguments that appear to be persuasive have to be examined rather closely to discover that they should not be persuasive. (Mosser 2010)
Homosexual marriages are not supported in most religions because it is written that God’s purpose is for a man and a woman to join as one and reproduce. Many people of faith look to both sacred texts such as the bible, and tradition for guidance on this issue. Homosexuality is never mentioned in the bible as an acceptable behavior. In some countries homosexuality is a cause for death and imprisonment. An individual is not born as a homosexual but choose to live that lifestyle as a preference. Some men and women prefer give and receive love from the same sex. God made man and woman and placed them together with the intention for more men and women relationships. Therefore, God did not make the same sex individuals to be together and would not allow someone to reproduce in such a manner. The Media has taken the religion aspect of heterosexual marriages out of perspective and made people feel that homosexual marriages are acceptable. If someone chooses to have a homosexual relationship that is their choice but allowing a homosexual union to be legal is a clear misrepresentation of God’s plan.
