IC01: The principle of infection prevention and control
1.1 Explain employee’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the prevention and control of infection.
Its employee’s responsibility to follow company policies and procedures as implemented by localised procedures. Any diseases that are notified must be reported to the appropriate authority. If I have any concerns I should discuss this with my line manager and they will seek professional advice.

It is the responsibility of the employer to provide employees with all information on company procedures on infection control and sufficient training should be provided. PPE (personal protective equipment) must be worn and provided to all members of staff.

The health and social care act 2008; code of practice for health and adult social care on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.
To help providers of healthcare, adults social care plan how prevention and control infections. Criteria for CQC has to be taken into account when assessing with the requirements on cleanliness and infection control.
