Integration and Learning Faith
The scripture Galatians 5:16-26 relates to having character, because you should do what is best morally. Walk in the Spirit - Get back that Spirit of God which you have grieved and lost; take up that spiritual religion which you have abandoned (Galatians 5:16-26, King James Version). This basically means to get your life right, stop living in sin, do what’s right in God eyes and he will lead you the correct path that you should be on. We all know that character is defined as moral or ethically quality, but Galatians 5:16-26 speaks of are you doing what is morally right in God eyes. In terms of relating this scripture to marketing management, this relates to Social Responsibility Marketing that is discussed in chapter 1 of our textbook. In marketing management you must have always be ethical in your job, not just for moral sake, but because as a company you don’t want to do wrong in order to make gains for your corporation. For example I would never work for a tobacco or cigarette company, because ethically and morally I think it is wrong to sell or promote the use of tobacco when it has been clearly known to cause cancer and to kill people. Even though it is not illegal to sell cigarettes or market them to individuals of age, I still believe that morally and ethically it is wrong.
Another point that helps us understand how Galatians 5:16-26 relates to marketing is because we all have a responsibility in the life, business or whatever we decide to do in our lives, and In marketing management you have a responsibility to yourself and to consumers to put forth the best campaigns and products. For instance in Galatians 5:16-26 it says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” I interpret this as it relates to marketing as having a passion, meaning well and to be dedicated to the product that you promote.
