The lone gunman theory, is the official explanation reached by the Warren Commission regarding the assassination of U.S president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. This theory states that Lee Harvey Oswald committed the crime single-handedly. There are many conspiracy theories suggesting there were multiple shooters, however the evidence in support of the Lone Gunman Theory is consistent and accurate. Evidence includes a laser trajectory analysis, the Warren Commission findings and the Zapruder Film. Due to a multitude of evidence in support of the theory, it is perceived by many as the most accurate.
In 1998 an on-site laser trajectory analysis was performed in Dealey Plaza. The investigation was carried out by recognized experts in ballistics, including Anthony L. Paul who has thirty years of experience in Firearms, Knives, Stun Guns, Pepper Spray and Criminal Forensics, and laser specialist Heinz Thummel. Also involved were experts in analysis of gunshot wounds, Dr. Vincent Di Maio with over forty years of experience as a forensic pathologist, and crime-scene investigator. Ronald singer, with expertise in crime-scene reconstruction. As the group of experts set up the crime-scene in the same position shown in the Zapruder film, they tested conspiracy theories and possible locations of the gunman. They eliminated all the impossible theories to be left with the most viable conclusion. As the experts were examining the possibilities, they were able to confirm a suspected firing point the second floor of Del tax building. This has been one of the main conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of the president. They found that the line of prod rectory with three degrees of rotation puts that shot in perfect alignment with the sixth floor of the Del tax building, and three degrees out puts that projectile in the second floor area of the Del tax building.
