The Kashmir conflict has been and is even today the hottest topic concerning the relationships between India and Pakistan. This paper is a descriptive analysis of the same. This paper is divided into the following sections.

III. Brief history of confrontation by India-Pakistan is discussed.
IV. The Current state of Affairs regarding Kashmir is described in this section.
V. The paper is concluded with a brief summary of all the various points that have been discussed earlier.
The Kashmir Issue – A Descriptive Analysis
Thesis: A detailed description of the ongoing conflict between Indian and Pakistan over Kashmir at the core.
Pre-history of the conflict: The conflict in Kashmir dates back to the year 1947. There were three wars that were fought by India and Pakistan between the period 1947 and 1972. However, the core issue in all these three wars remained Kashmir. As already mentioned initially, the conflict dates back to 1947 when India was partitioned on the basis of certain religious issues and this led to the formation of India and Pakistan as two different nations. This partition was done in order to form two different nations that were previously colonies of British in South Asia. Pakistan formed with more number of Muslims and India formed with Hindu majority. The reason for being Jammu and Kashmir a troublesome region is that the population of this region was majorly Muslim, but it was ruled by a Hindu King. The King being a Hindu, preferred to be part of India and the same was considered to be illegal by many Muslims and the entire nation of Pakistan (Rvolution - Fuel for the fire).
