During this semester in Nutrition I have learned alot. I have much more about how my body works and what I need to do to live a more healthier lifestyle. With food rules and food pyramids I have learned what foods are good for me and which are not . As we did many assignments, one for example the Vitamin and Mineral Supplements packet, I have learned that our body needs diffrent vitamins to help us increase our nutrient needs. Some supplements help us to improve nutrition status, improve the body`s defenses, and reduce disease risk. For instance , I knew what osteoporisis meant but now I really know how to divide the two roots up for a better overall meaning . I think this helps in learning new words also.During our labs, in which I enjoyed so much, I learned so much about Vitamin B and how to determine amounts of Vitamin C in drinks. I think that these were my two favorite labs, not only because they were fun , but because they were very informational too.The Vitamin C laboratory was thirst quenching (lol). During this lab we were to compare certain amounts of drinks and juices , using an indicator. We could tell if there was Vitamin C , if the indicator turned clear. The other assignment was delicous. In this lab we were to determine the amout of Vitamin B in Cereal , Milk and Bananas. It helped us to become familiar with our B vitamins and our daily requirements . Overall it was a great...
