Life Lessons
I have noticed through experiences that have occurred in my life, I have learned from them, grown as a person and moved on. A lot of us want to have a successful life. But what is success to you? I always thought as a teenager that when I grow up I want to earn lots of money and have my own business. Funny enough, I have done that and I didn't feel successful or happy in doing so. I felt like it had taken over my life. My husband and I had an IT business that was successful and still is to this day. I wasn't motivated by the business, I just did it because I felt I had to. When me and my husband got divorced, we went our own ways, he chose to continue with the business and I went back into the workforce. I found it challenging at times, having to answer to a boss when I had been the boss for so many years. It was the experience of going through divorce, when I really found what I wanted to do in life and that was to help others. Divorce was one of the lowest moments in my life. I realised I had a great sense of strength within me, that got me through it. I really want to share this with others and help where I can through my experience. I am now working on starting my own business and I am really looking forward to it as it is something I really want to do. I am glad to have found something that I am passionate about doing. I feel that sometimes we get absorbed by superficial things like money, material objects and the way people look. I was like this in my teens but soon learned the lessons and for me, its about being happy within and the way to achieve this for me is about succeeding personally. How good did it feel when I won that award at the school carnival(that personal success). I want that feeling back and I am determined to get it back and I will. This paper has come about through lessons I learned through painful life experiences. Life is an exploration, and maybe certain lessons in life must be experienced to be understood.
