Cardiovascular Surgery
The heart is the most precious jewel of the human body. The heart is that one lifeline that keeps us all alive. Yet, many people do not know this, and mistreat their hearts by making poor lifestyle choices. Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States?? About a 79.2% of people in America suffer from diabetes, cholesterol, obesity, and high blood pressure. That is why there are cardiovascular surgeons to help people make the right decisions. It is the duty of a Cardiovascular Surgeon to help prevent people from causing themselves harm. If it is too late then Cardiovascular Surgeons make their way into your heart to fix the damage done. No I am no talking about if someone has a “broken heart” like they say, but if a person suffers from any of the following heart disease: Coronary heart disease, Cardiomyopathy, Coronary artery disease, Congenital heart disease, Ischemic (or ischaemic) cardiomyopathy, Hypertensive cardiomyopathy, Valvular heart disease, Inflammatory heart disease, Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and sudden cardiac death.
Cardiovascular surgeons perform operations on the heart and blood vessels of the body. There are a number of different types of operations on the heart, including replacement of heart valves, or bypasses of blocked coronary arteries.
