Unit 400- Understanding the management role to improve management performance.
Asquith Hall, is my place of work, and, is located in Todmorden overlooking the beautiful Centre Vale Park, it was built as a direct response to the need for high quality care in the local area. Asquith Hall is specifically for people with mental health needs and presentations of Dementia. The home is registered for people aged 40 years upwards and specialises in challenging behaviours often associated with complex case management needs. We are a specialist nursing home that provides the very best, personal service to residents. Our philosophy of care is quite simply to provide a quality service with personalized packages of care assuming that no two individuals need the same package and that each resident is unique. The understanding that people with similar needs would live together evolved the creation of two units within the care home.
The ground floor has 25 bedrooms and focuses on long-term care for people with Dementia and complex mental health needs presentations, these residents often pose us with challenges around maintaining safety, independence, decision making and management of behaviour.
The first floor at Asquith Hall is specifically organised to focus on mental disorder, complex needs and challenging behaviour. There are 28 bedrooms all single and individual en-suites / wet room. Where our younger residents are living alongside those that are older but still very challenging.
The philosophy of care is replicated on this floor to provide good quality care and excellent surroundings with skilled interventions. We aim to have zero crisis admissions back to hospital for mental health care which to-date has been achieved. We monitor every stage of care to maintain the dignity of an individual in what can be a long, progressive condition.
