Media Influence on America Culture

  What were the major developments in the evolution of mass media during the last century? (heisler, 2013).   Early part of the century the printing press allowed mass production of newspapers and magazines which were being used as the main form of media. During the 1930’s radio and television became a major form of media communication. By the end of World War II television were being mass produce and people were being exposed to marketing campaigns and news media. Visual violence was being show on television, sexuality, suffering and relief.
  As technology expanded media influence expanded with it, satellites were being launch into space so everybody was getting the same news and information at the same time. People were protesting the Vietnam War that was being covered from miles away. The electronic age as began mass media has grown exponentially information can be access faster and faster. (heisler, 2013).   With the advent of the internet the power of the media has gone to the people, the publishers and the television stations do not control what the people receive from the media. (heisler, 2013).
  New sources of mass media, like social networking sites and blogs are considered emerging media they come from everyday people not just journalists or publishers. (heisler, 2013).   Cell phones, computers, and tables are the new era of media that is being used by the masses. Traditional media can be seen on your smart phone and you can receive alerts that important news. There are apps that let you social network on Tweeter and Facebook this is the new age of media. Blogging is form of media networking where someone wants to talk about a topic and people join in on the subject matter and they give their personal opinion.
