Our training calendar generally commences from September and continues till January of the following year, culminating with a two- day intensive annual training program.
Our latest annual training program was conducted on the 15th and 16th of January 2011. A new model financial statement based on the current IFRS was introduced during the annual training session. Application and disclosure matters of some of the important standards were also discussed during the session. We believe that on adoption of the new model financial statement by our clients, it will significantly enhance the nature and quality of the disclosures in their financial statements, thereby adding value.
The latest training program covered inter-alia, new/revised audit documentation based on the current ISA. The process involved in audit planning, including identifying fraud risk, overall financial statement risk, and assertion level risk were discussed at length. The relevant audit approach to mitigate such risks was also highlighted. Matters regarding requirement of audit documentation based on ISA and audit completion were explained in detail. Some of the revised audit documentation followed by Morison International were also introduced during the training session.
Importance of cash flow statement and its relevance to operations was elucidated during the training session. Aspects on anti- money laundering and steps required to be taken to mitigate risks connected to money laundering were discussed.
