In this scenario I discovered that one of the norms is that they allow everyone to have a say and contribute to the conversation. Once they have come to a possible resolution, they vote on it. But there could be more questions or concerns that could take you all the way back to the beginning.
There are different norms that defines how the decision making process should be approached for individuals that come from different cultural backgrounds (Binsiddiq, 2013).
The team starts coming up with other ideas on how to help the 25 employees and their families to get acclimated to the new culture. The benefits of diversity is that you can get different points of view from different cultures and backgrounds which something could be said that no one else would have thought of.
Resolving core issues as a group will enhance the employees’ engagement as they become highly involved in the organizational processes. Groups with diversity tends to lower the impact of group think that promotes the development of each members’ self-efficacy within the groups. (Binsiddiq, 2013)
I belief that the facilitative/equal style of communication is used by the whole team. They don’t put anyone down for their thoughts and opinions. In fact they welcomed everyone’s thoughts and suggestions. I noticed that when Carla speaks, she is looking for non-verbal communication which could be expressed by the others facial expression and their body language.
Non-verbal communication includes non-verbal cues. Oral communication involves all the features of non-verbal signals like gestures, postures, facial expression, pace, intensity, tone of voice and body language.
