There are people who have dedicated their lives to exploring nature. They continue to search for a better understanding nature. Unfortunately, we often become caught up in the our daily lives, and forget to truly appreciate nature. In the story, the narrator marvels, understands, and appreciates nature.
The narrator of the story watches nature in amazement. He values each hour spent watching nature. Some fail to realize the complexities of nature. This statement is supported by the narrator who said: “Few adult persons can see nature. Most persons do not see the sun. At least they have a very superficial seeing. The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the heart of the child. The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other.”
He understands the complexity of nature. Everything flows in harmony within nature. Every creature has a significant purpose and role to play in nature. The narrator expresses his view when he stated: “Yet it is certain that the power to produce this delight does not reside in nature, but in man, or in a harmony of both.”
The narrator enjoyed observing the transitions between the various seasons. He notices of the small things in life that we take for granted. It's humbling to view natures incredible power in motion. The narrator conveys this thought when he said: “The stars awaken a certain reverence, because though always present, they are inaccessible; but all natural objects make a kindred impression, when the mind is open to their influence.”
Throughout the written piece, the narrator stresses the importance of nature. He gives several examples of his correlation with nature. Unfortunately, many of us frequently forget to truly appreciate our surroundings. However, the narrator encourages us to acknowledge natures influence on our lives.
