“Is the grass always greener on the other side?”
How far do you agree with this statement?

I agree with this statement to a large extent. Most of the time, the grass is certainly greener on the other side. However, when you cross over to that other side, you might find that the situation or place you were in before was better than that you are in now.
Certainly, the grass is constantly greener on the other side; this is because we feel that our own country’s education is not good enough. We feel that our own country’s education is not as competitive and comprehensive as that in the United States or Europe. Therefore, we would likely to send their children overseas to study to gain more experience and exposure and feel how it is like to study in a more competitive environment.
Definitely, most of the time, the grass is greener on the other side. This is because we feel that our housing is not as good as that in other countries. Therefore, we would go to other countries to experience how much better their housing is compared to our old houses. These are results of “Brain Drain”.
However, we feel that way because we do not get exposure to the living habits of people in other countries. Therefore, we might feel that Singapore is not good enough for us.
Moreover, we do not get to experience or taste how it is like to live in other countries like Europe or The United States. Therefore, when we move to other countries, we might regret it as the life in Singapore is much better than that in other countries like the ones mentioned.
In conclusion, I feel that we wanting to move to other countries because of their certain good qualities are the result of Brain Drain. Therefore, we should stay loyal to our country and remain in Singapore no matter what happens.
