Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Foundation, Inc. is the name of the foundation I have chosen to write about in this paper. The foundation’s website is “http://www.jjpaf.org.”
Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was initially formed in 1997 and was renamed in 2009 to assists patients without adequate financial resources and prescription coverage in obtaining free products donated by the operating companies of Johnson & Johnson. The foundation stands as an independent organization reflecting the operating companies long standing commitment to helping patients access prescription medicines. The Foundation offers a traditional provider office-based patient assistance program and a hospital outpatient-based patient assistance program. Eligibility criteria are based on the federal poverty guidelines and are adjusted each year. Currently, more than 40 products are available through the programs, and more than 20 medicines are available through a retail pharmacy card. The Foundation does not collect any fees from patients or providers. Patients are eligible for up to 12 months of assistance and can reapply each year as needed.
Individuals who are eligible to apply for this foundation are patients without insurance either public or private prescription drug coverage. Have a yearly gross income of self-Administered Products: $22,980 or less for a single person and $31,020 or less for a family size of two. Physician-Administered Products: $45,960 or less for a single person and $62,040 or less for a family size of two. Larger family sizes are adjusted accordingly. Patients must reside in the United States or a United States territory. A U.S.-licensed healthcare provider must also be presently treating the patient as an outpatient. I...
