Oman is a great place to go if you like nature. There are wild deserts mountains, and
tropical seaside. People travel to Oman because of it beautiful sentry, interesting Arabic
traditions, and worm weather. Some of the activities you can do there are relax, fish,
scuba dive, or enjoy Oman's interesting cultures.
Oman is in Asia and lies on the gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. The land is
bordered by United arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. Omans time zone is
GTM+4. Oman is around the size of Kansas. Oman has a land mass of approximately
300,000 kilometers. About 82 percent of the land mass is Valleys and deserts, 15 percent
is mountain ranges, and 3 percent is coastal plain.
Oman is very hot and dry with temperature from 18o degrees to 34o degrees C.
Rainfall ranges from 76 to 102 mm per year. Some natural hazards that Oman has are:
Large sandstorms, and periodic droughts.
The population of Oman is about 1.5 million and the population density is
9.5 per sq. km. The capital of Oman is Muscat with a population of 620,000. Muscat is
the most densely populated city in Oman. The birth rate is 37.98 and the death rate is
4.29.
Oman people live in modern homes or apartments. The sexes of Omans are
traditionally separated with outside living. But slowly Oman is becoming not as sexiest.
Men and Woman have distinctive clothing. The men wear a white robe and a turban. The
Women wear long colorful dresses with trousers underneath. The Oman eat food like
fish, sheep, goats, and dates. They drink alot of coffee there too. Traditional activities
they have are storytelling and soccer.
Omans Speak six languages. They are: English, Baluchi, Urdu, Indior, and
dialects. There official language is Arabic. The different religions they have are: Arbs,
Islam, Muslim, Hindus, and Ibadis. Oman is the only country in the world that has the
religion of Muslim. The religion that is the most popular is the Ibadis.
