MIAMI SCHOOL DISTRICT NEGOTIATION PAPER
The Miami School District is making many decisions in negotiating with the redrawing of the school boundaries for the up coming year, in regards to the increasing enrollment. There are many reasons that affect the redrawing effort, which in turn affect the parents, the children and the community. Many concerns are directed towards the quality of the kid’s education. The concerns of the economic welfare of all concern, along with cultural boundaries, given the effect on property values, along with the many cases of social effects with the children. When you think of the many reasons that can be used in the negotiation, the bottom-line is this, both parties needs have to be met and address, to have a good and decent outcome of the many issues that are on the table.
When you think about who are the stakeholders, the stakeholders are the many individuals that are essential to which the redrawing can and will affect. The stakeholders in effect have issues with the school boundaries that the children attend within the school district. Many of the employees, as well as many of the parents within the school district, have a stake in this. Many of the schools will be faced with some of these issues, students, schoolteachers, the staff; they all have a stake in these issues. Also many of the students may become very displaced with all that is happening to them, they can loose focus on their studies, and become disengaged. The surrounding areas of the communities that are affected, the district have many issues at hand, but both sides must and should create an environment that will have a successful outcome, a win-win for both sides.
