I have you ever imagined having the world at the palm of your hands. On your way to the top. To have everything you've ever owned taken from you? Have you ever thought life couldn't get any worse? Praying for a miracle? To get that miracle only finding yourself back at the bottom. At an ultimate low in life. Hitting Rock bottom in the worst way. I was 20 years old. I was in school working two jobs. Two semesters away from completing my Veterinary Technician Certification at CNM (Central New Mexico Community Collage). I met my first love and life was good. I never in a million a years thought my life would be where it is today. It all started to go down hill on November 17, 2009, at 7:30 pm which is a day I will never forget. We were on our way to the local Sam's Club to get gas. My boyfriend Josh was in a hurry to make it to the pumps before they closed. Not caring what he was doing and forgetting he had 5 peoples’ lives in his hands, he blew threw the red light, which caused an APS school officer to T-bone the car we were in. The car I was in was hit twice by the APS officer. The push guard of the patrol car. Ripped off the the entire passenger side off. Which caused me to be ejected threw the front windshield of that car.
I don't remember anything after being hit. I remember waking up to Josh over me trying to pick me up. Hearing the paramedic telling Josh “There is a lot of blood coming from her head, don't move her sir." I was told I was screaming “I can’t feel my legs or back” The pain I was in is something I can't even begin to describe. I was transported to the local ER. I kept asking for Josh. "Where’s Josh?" The only thing the doctor kept telling me is they needed to get me to X-ray and get an MRI on me. It was believed I may have broken my neck and back. The doctor’s wouldn’t even move from the yellow...
