The concepts of power and authority are in essence overlapping ideas they are often seen together but are really different.
Power: is the capability of a person or a group to influence the beliefs and actions of other people. Power can be personal power an example of personal power is expert knowledge like Doctors, Engineers, and Programmers, They get their power from their expertise and professional knowledge.
Authority: On the other hand is the right delegated to a person. It is a right to get things done through others. They have a right to take decisions and give orders.
