Teaching At EMTEP
Equality
  * You must ensure that no person is discriminated in anyway
  * Learners must have equal access and not discriminate against (age, gender, race, sex, learning difficulties and disabilities, harassment, religion,).
These are protected characteristics.

Inclusion / Diversity
Make sure the sessions are orientated towards the needs of the individuals or group.
Try to aim specific questions to individuals with empathy so that the individual can break the barrier of getting more involved in discussions.
Ensure interaction mixed group work from different backgrounds. Some have specific k strengths and weaknesses which they overcome.

Referring Individuals / Groups
Always consult a member of staff with higher authority when wanting to refer individuals outside the scope of EMTEPS work.
We can refer individuals that have special needs or health issues.

There are Boundaries and Limitations to what the teaching post holds at EMTEP. Teaching in general has wide authority in class for maximising teaching effectiveness and influencing a positive learning environment.

As a teacher you cannot enforce your own beliefs whether religious or political. You will comply with EMTEPs rules and policies and always refer back to the Rules and Policies booklet.

EMTEP works alongside the Local Authorities of Middlesbrough and Stockton. Working with Social Services, Youth Mentors and Health and Wellbeing departments.
Partner up with Sports England to provide sporting activities to the local community.
Work alongside Lifeline to help tackle substance misuse. Drugs Misuse Advisors working alongside our Mentors
