I have been requested to produce an assignment of my role as a teacher within the animal care and welfare / service dog handler sector. As an apprenticeship co-ordinator my job role is to contribute towards the achievement of apprenticeship scheme targets through the recruitment of learners, delivering, assessing and monitoring QCFs and delivering functional skills English and Maths training and assessments for Level 1 and 2. 1 - Understand own role and responsibilities in lifelong learning
My responsibilities are to draw up individual assessment plans with the learner, provide feedback and to support and encourage learners whilst providing equal opportunities for assessment.
I am required to maintain a safe and supportive environment whilst catering for the needs of all learners and to ensure they are fully supported throughout their apprenticeship to which I follow each step of the teacher / training cycle to achieve this, as explained below. 1.3 Explain own role and responsibilities in lifelong learning. 3.1 Explain own responsibilities in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
Identifying the needs
First of all at the induction stage I carry out an initial assessment in numeracy and literacy this will identify what level the learner is currently at and to ensure they are within the requirements of the awarding body.
These initial assessments can highlight possible learning difficulties, and referral to the AEC may be required if the learner is below that of the required standard or showing signs of learning difficulties such as Dyslexia. As we take into consideration RPL within 5 years prior to the...
