QI Plan for Marion General Part 4
Executive Summary
Proposal to Implement a Patient Satisfaction Quality Improvement project.
Through the application of a quality improvement project, Marion General Hospital plans to improve patient satisfaction. The mission of Marion General Hospital is “to be the first choice for healthcare services and to promote wellness in our Healthcare community” (“Marion General Hospital”, n.d.). There is a need for a quality improvement project regarding patient satisfaction due to public perception about the hospital as well as their patient satisfaction scores.
The quality improvement plan on patient satisfaction will be the following:
1) Emergency Room wait time
2) Length of time spent in the emergency room
3) Return rate back to emergency room
4) Patient satisfaction with service
Marion General Hospital’s plan is to apply a quality improvement project regarding patient satisfaction that will increase patient satisfaction scores. This quality improvement project will require significant staff training. The evolution of the quality improvement project will be seen by the HCAHPS quarterly results and recommendations for improvements can be found there as well.
Marion General Hospital is a hospital in a small city located near the capital of Indiana, Marion. They offer ambulatory services, anticoagulation clinic, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular lab, congestive heart failure clinic, critical care, diabetes education, emergency department, family birthing center, hospitalist services, joint replacement center, laboratory, medical oncology at progressive cancer care, medical/surgical services, neurodiagnostics, outpatient therapy, pastoral care, pediatrics, respiratory care, and wound ostomy clinic services.
